3 C’s for children: Citizenship, Coordination and Cooperation

First Spanish Meeting of Child Friendly Cities (Seville, Spain 27-28 October, 2011)

The UNICEF Spain Child Friendly Cities (CFC) programme is organizing the first national meeting of child friendly initiatives. The core theme of the event is “New challenges and opportunities for pro children municipalities: Citizens, coordination and cooperation”. The idea is to transform three ideas into actions:


Citizenship: to foster democratic participation in children’s issues with especial emphasis
on the role of boys and girls.

Coordination: to optimize the use public and private resources available for children.

Cooperation: to encourage collaboration between governments, NGOs, universities, etc..
to work in the same direction and in common projects in order to multiply results.

The event is directed towards local government officials, children’s and youth practitioners,
civil society and grass root organisations.
